What Will Ghost Of Tsushima 2 Be Like?

Ghost Of Tsushima 2

Ghost of Tsushima is regarded as one of the best PS4 exclusives ever from Sucker Punch. The game has recently been announced for PC which means that it has matured on PS and Sony is now releasing it on PC to make the most of the IP. It also signals the imminent announcement of Ghost of Tsushima 2.

Ghost of Tsushima 2 has allegedly been in development for a while now and Sony has been waiting for the opportune moment to make its announcement. Here is everything that we know about Ghost of Tsushima 2.

Everything We Know About Ghost Of Tsushima 2

Ghost of Tsushima was originally released back in 2020. So it goes without saying that fans are anticipating a sequel. While we have received reports and rumors that Ghost of Tsushima 2 is in development, there is little concrete information related to the game. Here is everything that we know about Ghost of Tsushima from leaks and rumors.

Leaving Tsushima Island

Speculation suggests that in Ghost of Tsushima 2 Jin Sakai will leave Tsushima Island and will travel to mainland Japan. This would make sense seeing how Jin has been branded as a traitor and is no longer a member of the Sakai clan.

Jin is committed to Yina and since she has planned to leave Tsushima Island we might see that happen in part 2, seeing how these events did not take place in the first game.

Ghost of Tsushima 2 Story

There is little that we know about the story of the game but we can speculate that it will either cover the Mongol expansion or the war between China and Japan. That would be a departure from the current setting but it would still be rather interesting. The ghost is more of a symbol rather than a person at the end of the day.

Multiplayer?

Ghost of Tsushima Legends was very popular even though it was free DLC. Sucker Punch could easily implement some form of multiplayer in Ghost of Tsushima 2, allowing fans to play the game together.

Parceling Out Portions Of The Open World

In the first game, parts of the world were unlocked as the player progressed through the story. It is safe to assume this will be the case in the sequel as well and that players will not have access to the whole open world from the start of the game. This will surely impact the pacing of the game and how players interact with the world.

With that said, the open world of GoT 2 may be fairly larger than that of the original game considering it has been in development for around four years now.

Announcement Coming Soon

Seeing how Ghost of Tsushima has been announced for PC, you can expect to get an announcement for GoT 2 very soon. IconEra on X (Twitter) claims that the announcement will be made in May or June during the PlayStation showcase. It is believable considering the original game came out four years ago.

PS5 Exclusive?

Seeing how we are already getting rumors of a potential PS5 Pro and the PS5 Slim is already here. It is safe to assume that releasing GoT 2 on PS4 and PS4 Pro would only hold the game back. While it should eventually come to PC like the original, it is safe to say that Ghost of Tsushima 2 will be PS5 exclusive at launch.

Potential Release?

Sony Group president, chief operating officer, and chief financial officer Hiroki Totok has said that there are no plans to release “any new major existing franchise titles next fiscal year”, which ends March 31, 2025. So it is possible that GoT 2 will be announced this year but will be released after the first quarter of 2025.

Let us know what you expect from Ghost of Tsushima 2 and whether or not you are interested in playing the game.
