Until Dawn Remake Release Date
The ‘rebuilt and enhanced’ Until Dawn remake launches on October 4, 2024. The single-player horror adventure adds more screen time for existing characters Hannah and John Washington, alongside improving the pacing of the game with a reworked Prologue.
The improved features improved motion capture from the same actors throughout the game, as Ballistic Moon take the lead from Super Massive Games, the developers of the original.
“One of our key visual improvements for Until Dawn has been around revisiting character models and bringing them in line with modern advances in character modeling and rendering. Improvements to textures, materials, rendering and animation performance have all contributed to higher fidelity characters who we hope will resonate with both new players and existing fans of the game.” revealed Ballistic Moon in a blog post.
The game will take complete advantage of Sony’s DualSense controller on the PlayStation 5. Fans will get to experience haptic feedback tailored to what’s happening on screen and the game uses adaptive triggers to allow players to feel the resistance on several firearms.
The developers have gone great lengths to provide a next-gen experience with the remaster, with a completely overhauled sound design and game cinematography. The game will feature a combination third-person and over the shoulder perspective instead of a fixed camera, allowing fans to revisit Blackwood Mountain in an immersive new way.
The Until Dawn remake launches on PlayStation 5, and Microsoft Windows on October 4 at 8 am PDT. Fans will be able to pre-order the game starting from August 21.
