Frostpunk 2 System Requirements & Game Pass Status

Frostpunk 2 is the sequel to 2018’s city-building survival smash-hit Frostpunk, by 11 Bit Studios. The second installment has debuted to rave reviews on PC platform, and fans can take a look at the minimum and recommended PC system requirements for both Microsoft Windows and Mac OS platforms.

Frostpunk 2 PC System Requirements

Minimum System Requirements

Frostpunk 2 requires 30GB of disc space on the hard drive to be able to load and play it. However, we recommended having more than 31 GB of available free space on your HDD. To enjoy the game on a medium to low graphicc settings, fans need atleast need a 1050ti or it’s AMD equivalent, which is an RX 550 video card with 4 GB of VRAM. Fans would also need an 8GB ram stick on the gaming rig to play it on minimum recommended settings as revealed by 11 Bit Studios. The CPU requirements aren’t also very taxing, but you atleast need an i5 or a Ryzen 5 to be able to play Frostpunk 2.

Recommended System Requirements

The recommended PC System requirements as detailed by 11 Bit Studios require you to atleast have an NVIDIA 2060 Super rtx, or it’s AMD equivalent, the RX 5700. You need 16 GB of ram on your PC, preferably.

Frostpunk 2 MacOS System Requirements

The only difference between the minimum and recommended requirements for Frostpunk 2 is the that you atleast need an M1 chip laptop or a rig to be able to run the game, and if you’re trying to the survival title on higher settings with more graphical fidelity and a higher level of detail you need to have an M1 Pro or higher processor, for instance the Apple M2 chip. An Apple PC with an 8GB RAM would only allow you to load the game on low settings. Fans can have a decent experience on medium settings if their Mac OS Laptop or Desktop has 16GB Ram or higher.

Is Frostpunk 2 on Game Pass?

Frostpunk 2 is available to play on Microsoft’s PC Game Pass on Day 1 launch on September 20. However, fans should note that the game won’t have a console release until early to mid 2025, and the game is currently playable on PC Game Pass only. Fans can also purchase the game separately from Steam, Epic Games store and the Xbox store. Frostpunk 2 also has a Digital Deluxe Edition available to purchase which will contain three post-launch DLC content, a digital artbook, and more. Frostpunk 2 is set in an alternate 20th century and has a ‘Mighty’ critic rating on platform OpenCritic.

Frostpunk 2 has over 51 achievements in the game to complete, and while the campaign of the game is over 6-7 hours long for the average player, the strategic city-builder with survival elements ensures a cohesive city-builder experience.

11 Bit Studios’ Frostpunk 2 is available to play on Microsoft Windows, and is scheduled to release on Xbox Series/X sometime during 2025.
