The Pyro Traveler was made available with the release of the Natlan region in update 5.0 of Genshin Impact. Previous elemental affinities unlocked when you resonated with the Statue of The Seven in a region. This isn’t the case for Pyro, however. Due to corrupted Ley Lines in Natlan, you’ll have to complete a few extra steps to get your hands on the Pyro Traveler.
Read on for the full guide on how to get the Pyro Traveler in Genshin Impact, but be prepared for spoilers for Act 5!
How to Get the Pyro Traveler in Genshin Impact
The Pyro Traveler is unlocked during the Where All Hopes Lie subquest in Archon Quest Chapter 5, Act 5 before your encounter with the quest’s boss, Gosoythoth.
Full Walkthrough for Where All Hopes Lie

You get access to Where All Hopes Lie after completing the previous subquest, Journey of Stars and Flames.
Head to the Peak of the Night Kingdom

Your main task in Where All Hopes Lie is to defeat the Gosoythoth found at the top of the Night Kingdom. To get there, you’ll have to make your way past a deadly gauntlet of traps and obstacles that will test your master of the game’s various traversal abilities. This section of the quest is separated into three sections; here’s how to complete them all:
1. Tepetlisaurus

You start this section indwelled in a tepetlisaurus. Your job is to make it across a pathway riddled with explosives. All you have to do here is press the left and right keys to avoid the obstacles.
2. Yumkasaurus

In this section, you’ll be indwelled in a yumkasaurus. Use your grappling ability to traverse a series of large gaps. Keep an eye out for grappling point indicators and avoid the falling debris!
4. Koholasaurus

For this final section, you’re indwelled in a koholasaurus. Run across the energy bridge while avoiding the abyss lasers.
Meeting the Gosoythoth
Once you’ve made it past the Spiritway, you’ll find yourself face to face with the Gosoythoth. A short cutscene will reveal that it’s actually a large, sword-wielding serpent with the power of Pyro and Abyss.
This is the point where you obtain Pyro Resonance, and you’ll be forced to defeat the Gosoythoth while in the Pyro Traveler form.
How to Beat the Gosoythoth
The Gosoythoth fight has two phases. Here’s how to beat them both:
Gosoythoth Phase 1

You only have to watch out for one big attack in this first phase. Gosoythoth will raise their sword for a moment before slamming it into the ground, unleashing a circle of Pyro damage and leaving the ground beneath him smoldering. You can deal with this by using your elemental burst right as its sword hits the ground, avoiding damage and recovering HP.
Use your elemental skill throughout the battle so that you always have enough energy for an elemental burst whenever you may need it. Otherwise, keep attacking the Gosoythoth until you get its HP down low enough to trigger the next section.
Gosoythoth Phase 2

Mavuika joins you for the second phase of this fight and will be your main damage dealer. The Traveler’s job is now to use heals to keep the team alive. Hold on for long enough and The Lord of the Night, Yohualtecuhtin, will appear.

Yohualtecuhtin summons three totems to the battlefield. Purify the totems by attacking them. This will grant Mavuika and the Traveler an ultra-strong attack which deals massive damage.
When the in-game crosshair changes to a flaming circle, aim the reticle and attack to send an enormous Pyro slash toward the Gosoythoth. Rinse and repeat until the dark serpent is no more.
Now that you have the Pyro Traveler, that’s six of the seven elemental Resonances unlocked. Now’s a great time to work toward making your Traveler even stronger by unlocking the true Constellations for its various elemental variants. And of course, you can always take your Traveler to the next level by grinding toward your next great build. Have fun with your new Resonance!
