Is LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga multiplayer? Every time a new LEGO game is announced, the thought of multiplayer follows. In the past, developers have had co-op in the game. LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga had an online co-op for players to dive into being a primary example. I play various LEGO entries and every time a new one is announced, I am curious if multiplayer is involved.

The Skywalker Saga is the latest entry for the Star Wars side of LEGO games. Players can experience the entire saga of the incredible space opera. Starting from Episode 1: The Phantom Menace to Episode 9: Rise of Skywalker. There are hundreds of characters from throughout the series to play as. Plus many more in the various DLCs that the game offers players to pick up. Knowing if the game can allow for multiple players is crucial to add to the fun. Therefore, we have the details to let you know if LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is multiplayer.

Is LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Multiplayer?

Yes, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is multiplayer. It offers a maximum of two players to play together through the story of the series simultaneously. This is done through split-screen couch co-op, giving players each a character to control on a side of the screen. Furthermore, the second player can use any of the characters the host player has unlocked. Multiplayer is a feature that is not new to the LEGO games. Other titles in the past have offered multiplayer such as LEGO Indiana Jones and LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean.

Additionally, it utilizes a drop-in/drop-out system. Meaning players can connect the second controller and start playing no matter where the host is in the game. It is a convenient option that gives a more streamlined experience to the game. Rather than having to make players load in or need to restart a level. The feature has been readily available in the LEGO games and makes things much easier. I have used it in the past for games like LEGO Indiana Jones and it makes the experience much better. So if you have a second controller, be sure to set it up when you can.

Does LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Have Online Co-op?

No, unfortunately, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga does not have an online co-op mode. When the game was released, the feature was announced to not be included. This was disappointing to not just me but many others. As previously mentioned, The Complete Saga game on PS3 had an online co-op. It was one of the best parts of the game and made for some great memories. I for one find it hard to get people to do couch co-op with. Therefore, being able to matchmake online was the perfect opportunity for me and likely others too.

Moreover, there was never any reason given as to why this feature was absent from the game. Especially with how highly anticipated it was from much of the community. As support is no longer happening, we are not going to be seeing online co-op coming to the game. The best we can do is remain hopeful that if a new LEGO game releases, the feature is implemented into it.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Multiplayer Workarounds

Players can play with others online in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga through workarounds. The tools are Share Play, Steam Remote Play, and Parsec.

Parsec – PC

Parsec is a third-party tool for PC players to download that allows for online co-op in the game. Once both players have downloaded and installed it, boot up the game. Afterward, load into Parsec and select the “Arcade” option. Upon doing so, change your lobby to private and invite your friend to join your Skywalker Saga game. This allows players to experience the game online with others and the app is a streamlined way to do so.

Share Play – PlayStation

Firstly, when it comes to Share Play, you both need either a PlayStation 4 or 5 console. Additionally, they must be in a party chat with you. Upon starting the game, click the “Share” button and then navigate left to the “Share Screen” option. Once you have selected this, you will be given the option to share play with somebody in the party chat. For PlayStation players, this is the only option if you cannot do couch co-op. As a note, both players must have satisfactory internet to Share Play and not receive any lag issues.

Steam Remote Play – PC

PC players also have an additional option through Steam Remote Play to play LEGO Star Wars. After launching the game, hit both “Shift+Tab.” Afterward, an option to invite a player to the game will be presented, select this. Once you do, the Remote Play link will be available, send this to the player you wish to have join you. The second player will be a guest in the game and players can play together without needing to do couch co-op.

Unfortunately, players are Xbox do not have an option to do remote play. Therefore, they must do couch co-op if they want to play LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. Unless they wish to go and play The Complete Saga, which is backward compatible on the console. Whether or not we are getting a new entry for LEGO Star Wars is unclear.

Now players who wish to play LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga through multiplayer have options. The game is filled with a lot of content to explore. Including numerous planets famous in the series like Tatooine and Coruscant. Experiencing the game with a partner only makes for a more interesting time. After grabbing someone to play with, make sure to pick out your favorite characters and relive the story of Star Wars. The game has some fun humor and is great to kick back and enjoy at your own pace. Plus the massive amount of collectibles, good times are sure to come.
