Smite developer Hi-Rez Studios has announced that the popular MOBA will officially exit open beta and receive a full release on the Xbox One on August 19.
By assuming the role of one of the many mythological gods featured, players must test their skills, powers and team tactics in Smite’s unique and colourful battlefields. The game’s Windows release has received a strong critical and fan reception, with the belief that the Xbox One version will draw even greater support for the title.
There’s good news for multiplatform users, as PC players will be able to merge accounts online, allowing access to previously purchased DLC and collected experience. It’s worth mentioning, however, that buying the Xbox edition will mean saying goodbye to your precious gems, as they will not be transferred over.
If you are on the fence about buying the Founder’s Pack, which includes a number of special goodies, you’ll need to make your choice before August 31. After this date, it will no longer be available for purchase, with the Ultimate God Pack instead replacing it. The latter package will not include the 400 Gems or unique skins offered previously, but will grant access to all characters available now and in the future.
Hi-Rez have promised to provide continual updates for Smite, with new characters, game modes and more for arena combat fans to look forward to.
