A Halo 5: Guardians trailer dropped today which showcased some storyline elements, Spartan cliff diving and a photorealistic version of Firefly actor, Nathan Fillion.
Set aboard an unidentified airship, the trailer starts with a group of Spartans being briefed about an upcoming mission. After a few lines of friendly banter and a cheeky smirk from Fillion, the squad quickly careens down a snowy mountainside. Some familiar combat abilities were shown in the cutscene such as the damaging ground pound and jet pack thrust. However, that’s not where the similarities end.
A battle rifle, energy sword, and Ghost were all shown in the trailer as the Spartan unit left a trail of alien corpses in their wake. Halo 5: Guardians is slated for release October 27, 2015 on Xbox One and is being developed by 343 Industries.
If the trailer has you wanting more, plenty of Halo 5 gameplay can be found on YouTube after the game’s beta in January. Be sure to check back to Power Up Gaming for more Halo coverage as the release grows nearer.
