UK consumers will have to pay a hefty premium if they want to pick up the collector’s edition of the hotly anticipated Mass Effect: Andromeda, it has been revealed.
This week, BioWare confirmed that it was releasing a special edition Nomad RC vehicle as part of one of its collector’s bundles for the upcoming action RPG. Priced at $199.99 USD, the officially licensed car comes with a steel book case for Mass Effect: Andromeda – but not the game itself.
Meanwhile, in the UK, retailer GAME holds the exclusive rights to sell the title’s collector’s bundle. While its listings do at least include a copy of the game in the bundle, the price of the collector’s edition rises to a staggering £279.99 on PC, Xbox and PS4; equivalent to nearly $350 USD.
This pricing strategy is sure to prove unpopular with UK consumers, and follows GAME’s unpopular decision to charge customers to demo PSVR units for as little as ten minutes.
