Users Can Now Play SteamVR Games on PSVR

PlayStation VR

PlayStation VR users can now experience SteamVR games with rotational head tracking support, thanks to an unofficial driver created by software developer Trinus VR.

An updated beta version of the driver is now available to download for free, adding side-by-side monoscopic output for non-VR games, and improved lens correction.

At present, the driver does not support PSVR movement tracking via a camera, although multiple developers are actively working on a solution. Additionally, Trinus PSVR only outputs games running at 60hz.

In terms of user experience, playing SteamVR games on the PSVR via the driver has been compared to that of running them on an Oculus Rift DK1.
