New Cinematic Trailer Revealed for Life is Strange Devs’ New IP, Vampyr

A new cinematic trailer, titled ‘The Darkness Within’, for upcoming action RPG Vampyr has been released today, revealing some details regarding characters and plot.

Most of these details revolve around protagonist Dr. Jonathan Reid, and shows some of his mysterious past. The game is set in 1918 London, where an infectious time involving Spanish Flu has left London battered with grief. Dr. Reid vows to help his people, but has returned from WWI with a new disease of his own: vampirism.

The new trailer also highlights the game’s many citizens, giving them their distinctive names, lives, and back stories to explore and discover. This lays the foundation of who needs to be killed will present themselves to players, and how they decide to handle that is entirely their choice. Essentially, you choose who to kill and when, but doing so changes the course of the game, and ultimately London itself.

Vampyr is powered by Unreal Engine 4, and is described as a darkly atmospheric ARPG. Developed by DontNod (Remember Me, Life is Strange) and being published by Focus Home Interactive, it will be available in 2017 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Check out the new trailer below.
