The latest title update for Ubisoft’s hacking-themed action-adventure title Watch Dogs 2 is rolling out now for PS4 and Xbox One.
Patch 1.09 includes minor stabilisation, performance and bug fixes, in addition to fixing an exploit that allowed players to easily determine whether they were currently being invaded.
The exploit involved simply opening up the world map; if the game paused, it meant you weren’t currently being invaded by another player, but if it continued in real-time, it was a sure-fire indication that you were about to be hacked. Interestingly, a similar exploit existed in the title’s predecessor and was never corrected.
The update also nerfs the YourBoySerge sniper rifle due to reports of it being overpowered in online player, reducing the number of rounds it can hold in its magazine from six to a solitary one.
