Bungie separated from Activision a while back and has to the rights to the Destiny franchise. This means that Bungie has complete control over what it does with Destiny 2 and the future of the franchise. Bungie is concentrating on Opulence and the new raid right now but after the season has ended the developer is going to announce what it has in store for players in the “new era” of Destiny 2.
Bungie has confirmed that it has big plans and they will be revealed once the developer is done with the raid. Here is what the developer had to say about the future of Destiny 2:
Right now, our focus is on Opulence. But after the Season has launched and Raid belts have been awarded, we’ll be looking deeper into the future, and sharing with you more about a new era for Bungie and Destiny 2. Buckle up and stay tuned.
Activision did cause some hindrances in the success of Destiny 2 and people did start leaving the game but Bungie did a great job with the Forsaken expansion. The developer bet big on the death of Cayde-6 but things worked out in the end. I myself bought the expansion to put a bullet in Uldren Sov and it was a great journey.
We did get a few rumors and leaks regarding Destiny 3 but it seems that Bungie is not done with Destiny 2 just yet. New content is always appreciated. let’s see whether it is going to be free or if Bungie is going to charge money and push it out as part of an expansion. I think that guardians are going to be happy with what they get and will be ready to dive into Destiny once again.
Let us know what you think about Destiny 2 and what you would like to see next.
