High on Life is a highly popular first-person shooter by Squanch Games. It first came out on 13th December 2022 for the Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. The game was a hit with fans, in part, thanks to it’s unrivalled humour and comedy. Justin Roiland, the creator of Rick and Morty, had heavy involvement in the creation of High on Life. His guidance quickly helped make this title a fan favourite upon release. Given all this, many gamers have started to wonder if and when High on Life will come to the PS4 and PS5 In this article, I will answer that exactly question.
Is High on Life on PS4/PS5?
Yes, I am glad to say that High on Life is now available on PS4 and PS5. The game first came to PlayStation on 22nd July 2023. It is currently available on the PlayStation store for the price of £49.99. It was previously an exclusive for Xbox and PC. This was due to a timed partnership between Microsoft and the developer Squanch Games. As part of that partnership, the game also came to GamePass. However, since Squanch Games isn’t owned by Microsoft, it was bound to come to PlayStation eventually. Thankfully, that wait is now over and PlayStation users can play it right now.
What to Expect from High on Life
High on Life is primarily a first-person shooter with action/adventure elements. You play in a fictional world as a character who must take down select targets and who must go on an adventure to save the human race. The game features sentient weapons such as guns and knifes. One such gun is called Kenny. It talks to the main character and provides much humour throughout the adventure. Lastly, the game has a certain amount of metroid-like features. You can acquire new weapons called ‘Gatlians’ as the game goes on. With these new weapons, you can then go to previously inaccessible areas.
Overall, High on Life is a highly entertaining and comedic first-person shooter that is now available on both PS4 and PS5. It received plenty of praise from fans and currently has a respectable user score of 7.9 out of 10 on Metacritic. The game was a fan-favourite upon it’s original release and so it definitely worth checking out for PlayStation users now that the timed exclusivity has come to an end. High on Life promises many hours of fun, light-hearted gameplay, along with an interesting story and great visuals.
