The Best Telltale Games: Top 5

Telltale Games

Telltale Games has given us a legacy of narrative-driven games to enjoy. Although the original company went defunct in 2018, the name lives through LCG Entertainment, which bought its assets in 2019.

In this article, although subjective, we list some of the best games from Telltale Games that changed how we think about and play narrative-driven games.

Telltale is one of the most famous independent video game developers in the history of the video game industry. From Batman to Wolf Among Us, and Walking Dead games, we list the five best games from the studio that went down because of financial troubles.

Tales from the Borderlands is a hilarious and action-packed spin-off of the Borderlands franchise. Full of dark humor, great characters, and an even bigger story, in Tales from the Borderlands you play as two vault hunters on Pandora, Rhys and Fiona, trying to find a hidden vault. Set between Borderlands 2 and 3, the game received a nomination for The Game Award for Best Narrative.

4. The Wolf Among Us (2013)

Every character is a suspect including Beauty, and others, offering a captivating story for a player to explore.

Minecraft: Story Mode lets you play as Jesse a regular character from Minecraft’s blocky sandbox world, but imbued with Telltale’s popular QTEs. The game works great and has a family-friendly story, making it a great, fun adventure. Despite a lukewarm critical reception, Minecraft: Story Mode’s strong connection to the beloved franchise and its lighthearted approach secured a place in the hearts of many players.

2. Batman: The Telltale Series (2016)

Batman: The Telltale Series is a different take on the epic brooding hero. Instead of a game with action-packed sequences, Telltale’s game delves into the duality of Bruce Wayne. While the game doesn’t shy away from bone-crushing brawls, these are far few as the Dark Knight faces off against the nefarious Children of Arkham in a game that focuses more on character development.

This is a must-play for fans of Batman and Telltale Games, and it holds a high second spot on our list of best Telltale games.

1. Walking Dead Season One (2012)

A sudden accident throws him into the heart of the zombie apocalypse, where his fight for survival takes an unexpected turn. He encounters Clementine, a young girl orphaned by the outbreak (sounds familiar?). Lee becomes Clementine’s guardian and together they start a fight for survival in a world infested by walkers and human betrayal.
