Death Trash Is An Interesting World You Need To Explore

Death Trash is an upcoming game that’s currently available on Steam, but is also going to arrive on Xbox Series X/S in August. It’s a fantastically weird and wonderful world full of meat and disgusting stuff that seems like it’s supposed to make you feel sick. I love it though. I’ve been playing the demo in Steam and I genuinely cannot get enough of this game. Its incredible blend of meaty madness and a feel of the world being full of wanderers like the Fallout universe just does something to pull me in, and I think it’ll do the same for you.

So the world of Death Trash, as far as I can tell from the demo, is one that was hit by some sort of massive disaster. It’s called The Bloodening, but I haven’t found an explanation for it yet. As a result, strange meat grows from the ground, and everyone eats it without question. It seems like some people suffer from a mutation if they eat the meat, but I’m not clear on that either. The meat also creates creatures like Fleshworms and the colossal Fleshkraken. It’s insane on a level that’s very difficult to get across, but it’s also brilliant.

This game has been in the works for six years, and it’s still not going to be done anytime soon. It’s got some deep RPG mechanics, spells, and all sorts of places to explore. I think you’ll be able to spend at least 50 hours exploring the world, if not 100 if the map is much bigger than it appears in the demo. It just seems like there’s no end to the stuff you can do. That’s all without going back through to change decisions and conversations to see how NPCs react to you differently.

If you only play one game that was showcased at E3 2021, make it this one. It’s got so much to offer, and I don’t expect it to be incredibly highly-priced either. The visuals are gross, gritty, and stunning, the sound design is lush, and the world is a highlight. It’s one of the most original that I’ve come across, moving away from the standard post-apocalypse into something that you’ll truly never have seen before.
